Goals of the Sangam are to
- Cultivate, promote and develop the Tamil language and arts. Promote Tamil literary reading and discussion.
- Spread the Tamil culture within the existing South Indian community and instill within our upcoming youngsters the values and essence of Tamil.
- Encourage the youth to organize and participate in voluntary activities.
- Promote South Indian art, music, dances, and drama.
- Invite and honor intellectual leaders of Tamilnadu.
- Celebrate Tamil functions and encourage youngsters to participate, use these avenues to teach them the significance of our festivals and rituals.
- Interface with other Indian organizations to promote cultural understanding.

Kadhambam (meaning an assortment of flowers) is the official publication of Tamil Sangam Michigan and is published quarterly. It is mailed to all members of Tamil Sangam as well as to the advertisers.
Objectives: Kadhambam serves as a foroum for the members to share their views, knowledge, issues and talent in accordance with the charter of the Tamil Sangam. It is also a communication vehicle for the Tamil Sangam Executive Committee to interact with the members intended to serve.
